Crysp secures TwinklHive Investment
Crysp, based in Yorkshire and London, supports businesses and schools across the UK in managing their property compliance and health & safety with a range of digital and physical solutions including document management, compliance tracking, e-Learning and physical property audits.
Prior to establishing Crysp in December 2019, founding director Stuart Harlow previously spent over 30 years working in Health & Safety supporting both private and public sectors.
Crysp has received a strategic investment from TwinklHive, an accelerator launched by Sheffield-headquartered global digital educational platform Twinkl.
Jonathan Seaton, founder and director at TwinklHive, said: "Fundamentally, property compliance and health and safety is about keeping people safe and well - and Stuart and Pete have highlighted the space as an area for radical disruption.
"Their desire and drive to shake up the sector makes them a great fit for investment from TwinklHive and we are thrilled to be supporting Crysp in their journey of growth."
Stuart Harlow, founding director of Crysp, said: "Our plan has always been to quickly scale and support a market where stakeholders have not always received the correct level of support; digital improvement has been slow; support has not always been pragmatic and transparent leaving clients frustrated and unclear on where their business is accurately positioned with Health & Safety. A clear end to end digital and physical solution both transforms the way property and other health and safety issues are managed in the workplace and provides client with constant assurances and visibility."
Pete Mills, founding director of Crysp, added: "Jonathan and his team at Twinkl share the same values and care for the customer as we do. The synergy alignment was key but also the experiences that Twinkl have faced and overcome in the last ten years allows the Crysp business to tap into invaluable expertise as we grow. We will always remain customer focused and we know our services can support organisations throughout the UK and beyond."
Carly Gulliver, managing associate at Addleshaw Goddard, led a team in advising Crysp on the legal aspects of the deal. Crysp is a 2021 cohort member of the AG Elevate programme, Addleshaw Goddard's accelerator aimed at startups and fast growing businesses.
Gulliver said: "Innovation. Collaboration. Entrepreneurship. Three stand-out qualities showcased by Crysp and its management team, Stuart and Pete. Crysp is a fantastic example of the fast growing digital businesses that are continuing to emerge from Yorkshire's exciting digital sector - we are delighted to have advised on this investment."
