Crysp supports Bronte Girls Academy on journey to employment

This week Sian Purver had the pleasure of visiting Bronte Girls Academy to talk to a group of eager Year 9 students on possible journeys into employment.

My name is Sian Purver, and I work in Business Operations at Crysp. Talking to students about their career paths can be a daunting task but it is something I am really keen to do in my role, and it also supports our mission to support schools beyond the work we do for them. What I have come to learn is that it is important to remember that each student is unique and has their own individual goals and aspirations. As a mentor, it is important to provide guidance and support to help them make informed decisions about their future.

When talking to high school students about their career paths, it is important to start by asking them what their interests and passions are. This will help you understand what type of career they may be interested in pursuing. It is also important to discuss the different types of jobs available in the field they are interested in. This will help them understand the different opportunities available to them.

It is also important to discuss the importance of education and how it can help them achieve their goals. Also, how hobbies and extra-curricular activities can teach valuable skills which will help on their journey into the world of work.

Pete Mills, co-director of Crysp commented, ‘I love the fact our team are so genuinely passionate about supporting the students across our community here in Bradford. We are very fortunate to have a team here in the business who truly care about our young people and ensuring we can facilitate learning opportunities as much as possible ’

Finally, it is important to discuss the importance of networking and how it can help them find job opportunities. Explaining the importance of building relationships with people in their chosen field and how it can help them find job opportunities.

Thank you to the team at Bronte Girls Academy.
