Crysp team lend their support to once in a life time trip for aspiring Leeds Karate champions!

Our team is proud of our local roots and we always, where we can, work to support the communities in our surrounding area especially when it comes to young people. A friend of co-director Pete Mills and the Crysp team, Kylie Greeff, has embarked on a monumental fundraising challenge to raise £20,000 to take 9 youngsters to the USA to represent England in the WUKF World Championships.

These 9 young people from Kylie's Leeds based Karate do-jo (Ichiban Karate) need £1,650 per competitor which covers such things as flights and accommodation.

Unfortunately, many of the children selected will be unable to attend without this successful fundraising effort as their families simply cannot afford the costs.

So...

Crysp has thrown its support behind Kylie and has agreed to sponsor one of the youngsters to make their dream come true and compete in the World Championships.

Co- Director Pete Mills:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for a group of young people who have missed out on so much during the past two years with the pandemic. By supporting Kylie and her students we have an opportunity to give something to the community and really help create life changing experiences.”

Kylie had this to say:

"This group of children are truly exceptional young people, that surprise me constantly with their commitment and the way they carry themselves. They’ve all been working exceptionally hard for years on their karate to get to this point. Covid interrupted their plans and set them back slightly, but many continued their training, using the time to broaden their skills and maintain their fitness levels. I hope that we’re able to help them reach their dream by successfully raising the funds needed, and not collect too many blisters along the way."
