Football isn’t all fun and games…

As many of us are starting to look forward to the first kick off of the Euros 2020, we just wanted to draw your attention to a much more serious side of the game for a moment.

There’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes when preparing for a football match.  I’m sure some of the things you thought about first are the countless hours of training of the players; or the groundskeepers making sure every blade of grass is cut to perfection; or the fans getting their favourite team’s strip on just in time for kick off.

But there’s a much more serious side to the preparation of the game.

There are a number of different legislations that are important to consider and get right when assessing the health and safety of any sports ground, and in this case any football stadium.  To name to a few;

·      Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975

·      Fire Safety and Safety of Places of Sports Act 1987

·      Football Spectators Act 1989

·      Sports Grounds Safety Authority Act 2011

·      Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974

·      Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985

·      COVID-19 Guidance

Health and Safety Practitioners, like the ones we have here at Crysp, are responsible for following all guidelines and ensuring any problems that arise when doing the necessary checks are taken care of.  This is so the teams, the staff and the fans can have a great (and safe) day at the game.

Please contact us at info@crysp.co.uk if you would like to know more or if you think we can help you.

But we know the question that you all really want answering is… is football coming home?...
