Why Manage Risk?

It is a legal duty for every business to ensure everyone goes home safely.

How do we Manage Risk?

Risk assessments need to be fit for purpose and whilst they are of course important, it is only part of risk management. Our Head of Customer Success, Lyndsey, dialled in with interest to a webinar promoted by Western Business Media “Health and Safety Executive Risk Management” was the title. The webinar featured a panel of experts from HSE including HM Health and Safety Inspectors. Nic Rigby (HM Principal Inspector) identified a common failure point for compliance laid with failure to follow policies and procedures. Ron Macbeth (Risk Assessment Technical Lead) highlighted the need for businesses to avoid traps such as carrying out risk assessments in isolation he went on to advise businesses should not ignore recurring issues and need to have control checks in place.
