Reflecting on 2024: Growth, Innovation, and a Vision for 2025
As we approach the end of 2024, it’s a perfect time to reflect on what we’ve accomplished as a business, together with our team, customers, and partners. I’ll resist turning this into a LinkedIn or blog post version of the Oscars, but there are a few acknowledgements I’d like to make.
2024 has been a remarkable year for us, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved as a team. Here’s a summary:
Revenue Growth: We’ve achieved a comfortable 50% growth in revenue across both our schools/public sector work and commercial operations.
Team Expansion: We’ve re-focused our efforts at our Bradford HQ, hiring Donna Storey (Senior H&S Advisor), Fatima Raike (Software Engineer), and Ellie Mae Sutton (Operations Coordinator). They have quickly embraced our culture and way of working, diving straight into their roles.
Customer Retention: We’ve secured an impressive 95% renewal rate with existing customers. Recently, I told a potential new customer that we support everyone from the nuclear industry to infant nurseries!
Platform Rebuild: Under the leadership of Dr David McKee, Sian Purver, and Andrea Taylor, we rebuilt the Crysp digital platform from the ground up, creating something exceptional for the future growth of our business. Its user growth has been phenomenal, with hundreds of daily active users.
Nationwide Operations: Under Chloe Rhodes’ leadership, we’ve successfully visited over 150 client locations across the UK – quite literally covering the length and breadth of the country!
International Expansion: We planted our flag in the US market with a visit to Chicago in September, and conversations are ongoing. We’re also exploring European support with two of our existing customers.
I could go on, but I’ll end this mini-reflection on 2024 with a special thank you to our investors TwinklHive including some of the team there - Pat Luker, Will Duckitt, David Angrave, Jon, and Susie Seaton – who, despite running one of the fastest-growing educational technology businesses, always find time for us.
Thank you also to our valued partners at Quest HR, Inspire to Outstand, Schofield Sweeney, and Packetts Insurance.
Above all, I’d like to express my gratitude to our wonderful customers. You believe in the need for a change in safety culture and software solutions and trust us every single day to be that change. Thank you.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As we step into 2025, we’re excited about the future and have ambitious plans to build on this year’s success:
Cyber Audits: With the increasing threat from malicious actors, we’re formalising our approach to cyber audits to support our customers. Online safety is becoming a growing concern, and we’re ready to help.
Team Growth: Chloe’s national compliance team will continue to service clients across the UK and, potentially, beyond. We foresee significant growth, particularly as we welcome new customers who feel let down by larger competitors and those under ever increasing regulatory burden.
Digital Platform Enhancements: Our re-launched platform has a robust roadmap for 2025, including:
An asset management feature
A contract management feature
A training matrix with e-learning capabilities
Enhanced reporting and dashboards
Improved workflow and third-party integrations
These enhancements will provide our customers with a powerful tool to transform safety culture within their organisations.
So, as we close the chapter on 2024, I’d like to wish all our customers and partners a very Merry Christmas and, on behalf of everyone at Crysp, a prosperous 2025.
Very best wishes,
Pete Mills, Executive Director
