Crysp sponsored young athletes secure massive medal haul in the Karate World Championships
We were delighted to hear about the success of the young team of athletes we helped sponsor from Leeds based Karate Club, Ichiban Karate.
The haul was incredibly successful with the team achieving:
🥇 Two gold medals
🥈 One silver medal
🥉 One bronze medal

The athletes flew out to the United States to attend the WUKF World Championships in Florida USA.
Of the 9 young people who represented Ichiban Karate, they returned with an impressive set of gold, silver and bronze medals. The main age group who embarked on the trip were around 11 with their youngest competitor being just 7!

We were delighted to play our part in supporting Kylie and her young athletes on this journey. It really was a once in a lifetime opportunity and every credit to Kylie who went onto raise over £20k to support the team in ensuring they could all travel to Florida for the competition.

Kylie had this to say:

It's really no exaggeration to say that without your support these kids wouldn't have been able to go to the World Championships and represent England for the first time. Not only did they get to represent their country in a sport they love, but many of the children had never been on an airplane or stayed a night in a hotel. So the whole experience really was a huge opportunity for all of them. The medals at the end of the day were a bonus!
They're all now excitedly planning and already training for the big major event! There's no stopping them now!
