We created Fire Risk Assessment Software for the masses. Are you in?
When Stuart Harlow and Pete Mills co-founded Crysp they had one overriding objective with the business simply put -
How can we build a platform as a service that can help thousands of businesses, schools and other types of organisations manage their fire risk assessments and other property compliance issues quickly and effectively?
With Stuarts background in property and facilities management over 35 years + it was clear to him that no one had yet cracked this area.
“The problem for most commercial property owners is simply you are either at one end having to manage your building through the likes of a google spreadsheet or emails (and in most cases paper!) because there simply isn’t an easy to use fire risk software platform available. On the other end of the scale for the larger and often more resourced portfolio owners your choice is a CAFM system (computer aided facilities management) or you work with a software / digital vendor and create something bespoke. Either are typically expensive and again alternatives to a CAFM system or bespoke offering are few and far between.
So that got me thinking. What if we could create our own fire risk assessment portal and actually marry that with the physical fire risk assessment services and other property compliance services that encompass the key legal obligations on property owners.”
That began the early idea of Crysp and going back to 2015 when Stuart first met his now co-founder Pete Mills.
Pete a former solicitor, after his short legal career went on to found a software agency. He went on to spend the next ten years designing and building software solutions for the worlds largest law firms and insurance businesses. Yet something was missing for him in the work he did - not that the clients did not have the prestige or struggle to pay well - rather the un-satisfaction that he would build solutions for businesses that sometimes did not even see the light of day once they were launched.
Pete:
“When Stuart began sharing his early concepts with me on Crysp I felt instinctively he was onto something. Let's be honest, health and safety management systems, fire risk assessment software, property compliance software - whatever route you take your digital transformation journey down the choices are quite frankly, unsexy and often very expensive.
When we started sketching out Crysp - literally writing on the white boards of our development agency we knew that ease of use and a clean modern design language were absolutely critical to the success of the product once we launched it.
However what was also key was the platforms ability to abstract out and scale on demand of the client. Whether you had one property or hundreds of properties the user experience was critical to ensuring that our end clients had everything they needed in one place.
Starting from £159 a year, you can use Crysp and all of its capability and this pricing makes it accessible to millions of small businesses that power our economies.
From a public sector approach and in schools directly Crysp has been a game changer and there will be more updates from the team later in our blog series.
Stuart, Pete and the team are happy to hear from anyone who is responsible for the safety of a workplace and where a fire risk assessment is required. We also always on the lookout for partners and key intermediaries who would like to add value for their clients by implementing Crysp software and services to those clients.
